GERMAN WWI M.18 EAR CUT OUT HELMET.
A very nice example still retaining the remains of what is now hardened flock finish, it is estimated that only 100,000 of the original batch of these helmets were finished in the non reflective flock finish. Slight rubbing to the paint finish on the crown area. Complete with its M.18 interior metal liner band and leather pads. The interior horsehair pads to each individual pad are missing. The drawstring is complete and fitted to two of the pads, one of the pads the holes for the drawstring in the leather has been torn. Complete with its clip on carbine type chinstrap. Faint traces of the original AK rubber stamp with the size ‘64’, also stamped to the inner shell by one of the ear cut out is the standard stamping for these ear cut out helmets of ‘ET64’, ET were the only makers of this helmet and they were only made in ET64 size.
