IMPERIAL GERMAN BRUNSWICK INFANTRY REGIMENT 92 1 YEAR VOLUNTEER PICKELHAUBE.
A very nice condition all leather pickelhaube being in an unusually large size. Both peaks securely attached to the main body, stitching has not rotted. The front plate is an officers plate having the motto ‘Fuerst’ to a scrolled base eagle’s head, cut out officers crown, nickel overlay plate of Brunswick Infantry Regiment used up to 1912 with the scroll Peninsular below all in white metal. Standard flat NCO type clip-over chin scales. NCO national and Brunswick State cockade. Officers tall spike. NCO domes to the lower section of the spike base and also the circular plate holding the spike base to the helmet. Officers quality lining. Good colour to the scallop edge leather sweatband with the internal silk still intact but shredded in places with an original owner’s name hand applied in large scroll lettering to the inside, with a hand applied size ‘59’. A rare helmet to this regiment.
