GERMAN WWII ARMY GENERAL’S VISOR CAP.
A very nice condition Army General’s visor cap, high saddle shape, constructed in the officer quality ribbed material. Gold wire waffenfarbe to the crown and to the upper and lower sections of the darker green centre band. The insignia fitted is a complete matching set of cellion eagle, cockade and chin cords, complete with gold side buttons. The cap has a size label of ‘56’ underneath the lozenge but on test the cap appears to be slightly larger. The interior mid tan leather sweatband all complete and undamaged with evidence of wear use. The inner satin lining material has some dampness of stains observed, the centre celluloid lozenge complete with the Clemens Wagner logo of ‘CW’ to the centre of the lozenge with the word in the middle of an eagle ‘ERSTKLASSIG’ to the centre of the lozenge. When the insignia was attached the stitching has pierced the inner lining on both the eagle and the cockade. The cork cushion is still in place in the forehead area. A very good example of a late war Army General’s visor cap. More extensive, extra images can be seen on our new Premium website, type in regimentalsmilitaria.co.uk in to your web browser.
