GERMAN WWI IMPERIAL GERMAN NAVAL AVIATORS TUNIC AND BREECHES.

An extremely rare four pocket tunic constructed in the olive/field grey green cloth of the Naval Land Forces of the Imperial German Army and Navy, quite distinct from the field grey of the army itself. Apple green collar, cuffs of the M.15 style, two upper breast patch pockets with flaps, two lower angled hidden pockets with flaps and buttoned, the rear skirt of the M.15 skirted type. The insignia fitted is a set of leutnants naval epaulettes with black, red and white fleck with gold aviators wing propellers fitted, stitched into the shoulders. All of the buttons are of the subdued olive brown naval anchor and crown type. Two minor moth nips to the pleat of the upper left hand pocket. Two sets of loops fitted for two separate awards, possibly an Iron Cross 1st class and a Naval Aviators badge. One interior breast pocket. The tunic also has the one aperture in the rear skirt. At the upper part of the rear skirt where normally metallic belt ramps are fitted, for some unknown reason these have been removed. The tunic is accompanied by a set of breeches, which are in army field grey. Belt loops to the upper waist band. Watch fob pocket. One moth hole to the crotch area. One replaced button to the fly. We recently purchased this uniform in the United States from the estate of the well known militaria collector and dealer George Peterson, who recently passed away. In the pocket we found a series of emails dating back to April 2025 from George Peterson to an email address with a name, the basis of the email relates to this uniform where it appears they have identified the uniform to a Leutnant Zur See Friedrich See Von Dotz, who was a member of Marine Feld Jasta 1 from 13th August 1917 to 17th September 1917, awarded with the Iron Cross 1st and 2nd class. Unfortunately George is not able to enlighten us as to where this information came from, we emailed the email address on the documentation looking for further information but unfortunately as yet we have not had a reply. This documentation accompanies the tunic. More extensive, extra images can be seen on our new Premium website, type in regimentalsmilitaria.co.uk in to your web browser.
