GERMAN WWII HUGE SIZE M.42 ARMY SINGLE DECAL COMBAT HELMET, GRAVE MARKER.

A massive size shell marked ‘ET68’ M.42 single decal army helmet. The decal is good and clear with some abrasions as can be seen in our images. The helmet at one stage seems to have been camouflaged and has a mixture of red and green hue across the whole skull. Very faintly visible across the front of the helmet has been applied the word or name ‘Sint’ with a crucifix below and we firmly this to have belonged to a soldier with the name Sint and was placed on his crucifix grave marker. The interior liner is excellent having obvious wear use but no damage and with its original drawstring. The circular stamp for the liner marking is clear but the inner numbers are missing. There is a darker area to the liner where it would appear that a previous owner’s name has been obliterated. The helmet is with its delicate but original chinstrap, which needs care in handling, the strap itself has been reinforced with a piece of cardboard to save any further splitting. A highly interesting battlefield pick-up helmet.
