GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS SWORD, NEAR MINT.

One of the best Luftwaffe officers sword we have had in many years, this beautiful piece with a blade measuring 72cm in superb condition. Maker marked by the Company ‘SMF Solingen’ with its Luftwaffe acceptance stamp above the manufacturers logo. The blue grained leather washer still intact between the blade and the lower cross guard. The fittings of the sword are all in aluminium with the superb contrasting gilt remaining to the mobile swastikas on both sides of both the cross guard and the upper pommel. The blue leather grip totally unmarked with its mint bright grip wire. The hilt fittings also in matching aluminium with the scabbard leather virtually flawless, one tiny crack in the leather close to the lower scabbard mount. There is a slight scratch to the aluminium upper scabbard mount. The sword is complete with its original blue leather hanger with all its correct aluminium fittings. It would be extremely difficult to find a better example than this aluminium fitted Luftwaffe officers sword.
