GERMAN WWII SS/SD MEDIUM DUTY COMBAT HELMET.

The M.34 style helmet retaining virtually all of its apple green finish with some slight rust bleed. One of the liner retaining rivets is missing. The Pocher runic shield fully visible with just minor abrasions. The swastika decal having more distress to the right hand side of the decal. The interior body is stamped ‘THALESTAHL’. The inner liner is all complete with good colour showing some service use, with its original drawstring, the strap unfortunately has been cut. Pasted to the interior upper inner skull is a small remains of a newspaper that appears to have Italian text. This particular type of helmet is fully explained on pages 80, 81, 82, 83,84 and 85 of the excellent work SS Steel by Kelly Hicks. All three of the inner leather liner pads have their interior cushion pads fitted.
