GERMAN WWI BADEN REGIMENT 109 ENLISTED RANKS PICKELHAUBE, REGIMENTALLY MARKED.

A nice large size leather skull, some congealing to the skin, both peaks securely attached to the main body. All the fittings are in white metal having its large Baden 109th front plate with the overlay star. Both national and Baden State cockades complete. The fittings to the front strap in white metal. The 9 tongued liner all supple and intact, with its original leather drawstring. An extremely rare helmet. Collectors would have remembered the name Michael Baldwin, the author of the Feldzug series of books, Michael had a fabulous collection built up over many years, unfortunately he passed away in 2017 and all of his collection was auctioned, this helmet is from that auction. It should also be noted with this helmet the Baden Regiment 109 consists of 3 Battalions, the 1st Battalion was the Leib Grenadier Regiment and the only battalion to wear the pickelhaube with silver fittings.
