GERMAN WWI BRUNSWICK INFANTRY REGIMENT 92 ENLISTED RANKS PICKELHAUBE, REGIMENTALLY MARKED.

One of, if not the most desirable of all of the helmets regimentally marked that are desired by pickelhaube collectors, Brunswick Infantry Regiment 92. The Brunswick Infantry Regiment 1st Battalion with the skull and crossbones and Peninsular scroll above the enlisted ranks Prussian helmet plate. The skull of normal small proportions in excellent condition with slight crazing. Some congealing to the front and rear peaks. Both front and rear peaks are securely attached to the main body, the stitching has not rotted, with its original brass chinstrap fittings. Some slight paint loss and congealing to the red, white and black national cockade. Good paint to the yellow and blue cockade for Brunswick. Regimentally marked on the rear peak ’92 R 1.B’ with the date ‘1909’. The 9 tongued liner is virtually all intact with the skin missing from the base leather on one of the tongues, another tongue being rather short. The front plate has the standard ‘Fuerst’ scroll at the base of the eagle’s neck. Collectors should be familiar with the Michael Baldwin collection, Michael built up a fabulous collection of Imperial German items, he unfortunately passed at the age of 60 in 2017, the collection was auctioned and this helmet was from the Michael Baldwin collection.
