GERMAN WWI SAXON ARTILLERY FIELD GREY PICKELHAUBE WITH COVER.
Another example from the Michael Baldwin collection, a completely untouched small size all leather pickelhaube for a Saxon Artillery Unit. Rear peak stamped ‘B.A.X 11’ with date ‘15’. Some congealing to the leather skull behind the field grey Saxon front plate, where one of the securing loops from the plate to the helmet has removed itself from the plate. One split in the front peak trim. Complete with its Saxon style non serrated national and State cockades. Fitted with its ‘97/15’ cloth cover with the original helmet strap being able to pass through the sides of the cover and placed over the front of the cover. This pickelhaube is another example of the style of collecting of the excellent collector Michael Baldwin. The interior leather liner with good brown colour with all of its tongues attached and an original cloth drawstring.
