BRITISH 6TH INNISKILLING DRAGOONS OFFICERS 1871 PATTERN HELMET.
A fabulous example of the 1871 pattern all metal helmet worn by an officer of the Irish based 6th Inniskilling Dragoons. The skull near perfect, one minute crease just to the left hand side of the front plate. Gilding excellent overall, with its long officers quality white horsehair plume. To the centre of the Inniskilling Dragoon front circlet is the castle of Inniskilling in Ireland. Much recruitment for this regiment came from the local Irish population. A nice feature is that the chin chain backed in velvet has an inner colour of Irish green, the skull itself is very bright. Complete with its multi stitched interior liner, green leather lined to the front peak and the inner rear peak. It would be hard to better this example. And to a Regiment with a long and illustrious history.
