AUSTRIAN WWI MODEL 1915 FIELD CAP.

The rare Austrian field cap complete with its Franz Josef 1st button. Two closure buttons for the side curtains, three items of memento pinned to one side with its mountain troops edelweiss laid on green material with a black and white feather attached to the left hand side as the hat is worn. The leather sweatband with field grey crushable leather peak. Identical construction to the item shown on page 99 of the excellent work The Emperor’s Coat in the First World War, Uniforms & Equipment of the Austro Hungarian Army from 1914 to 1918.
