GERMAN WWII ARMY FIELD POLICE OR RECRUITING DISTRICT OFFICERS VISOR CAP.

A triple Erel marked officers visor cap. No size stamp but on test it would appear to be 59 or 60. Standard saddle shape constructed in the highest quality materials as were used by the Company Erel. Not a spot of moth, staining or distortions anywhere on the visor cap. Standard field grey green material with the orange waffenfarbe of the Recruiting District and Field Police to the upper crown and to the upper and lower sections of the dark green centre band. A completely matched set of stamped aluminium national eagle and cockade, the central cockade is of the vented Erel style and is vented all the way through the centre band. Complete with its set of officers cap cords and pebbled side buttons. Slight crazing to the fibre peak. The light tan leather sweatband showing signs more of age storage than of wear use. Good bright silver stamped ‘EREL STIRNSCHUTZ’ markings to the sweatband. The interior lining all in gold. Deep bright silver stamping underneath the centre celluloid lozenge and complete with the remains of its Erel paper label that would have been stitched together into the cap with the centre lozenge. A magnificent example.
