GERMAN WWII NSDAP GAULEITUNG OFFICIALS CAP.

An absolutely close to a mint example of the Gauleiter officers cap. The Gauleitung was the second highest level of the NSDAP party’s administration throughout Germany, equivalent to a County in the U.K. or a State in the USA. Beautiful quality golden brown ribbed construction, dark brown centre band with wine red piping to the crown and the upper and lower level of the brown velvet centre band. The gilt to both pieces of the insignia mid bright. The enamel is undamaged to the political silver, red and black cockade. Gold cap cords with gold side buttons. The peak is of the leather crushable variety. To the interior the mid tan sweatband is complete, the cap has its original NSDAP canvas acceptance label stitched to the inner sweatband. To the inner sweatband golden brown rayon lining with a complete and undamaged centre celluloid lozenge, imprinted in silver to the lozenge ‘STIRNDRUCKFREI DEUTSCHE REICH PATENT’. Although the cap is size stamped, on test it appears to be a size 58 or 59. Not a spot of moth, staining or imperfection of any sort to the cap. A very fine example.
