GERMAN WWII PANZER GRENADIER DOUBLE EREL MARKED OFFICERS VISOR CAP.

A huge size cap, possibly 59 or 60, constructed in the soft Melton material. One minor pin head size moth nip to the crown, another similar size on the left hand overhang, otherwise no indication of any moth damage anywhere else on the cap. The light apple green piping contrasts beautifully against the grey on the top of the hat and the dark green centre band, of which there is a row of apple green piping on the lower and upper side of the centre band. The cap is fitted with a bright stamped aluminium eagle with matching cockade, the central metallic cockade is of the vented type, the cap is also fitted with a standard set of officers cap cords. Some creasing and crazing to the exterior of the fibre visor. The light tan sweatband shows evidence of wear use. The Erel trademark to the leather band still visible. The golden lining to the interior has shot in one place. The ‘EREL SONDERKLASSE’ lozenge in silver is all complete and visible underneath the undamaged centre celluloid lozenge.
