GERMAN WWII CHEMICAL WARFARE DOUBLE EREL MARKED OFFICERS VISOR CAP.

An extremely rare cap being of large size, non stamped but estimated at 58 or 59. Standard high saddle shape constructed in the ribbed officers material. All of the piping in the Bordeaux Red colour. To the upper and lower sections of the dark green centre band there is one tiny moth nip to the lower left hand overhang otherwise totally free of any other moth damage. The cap is fitted with a stamped aluminium eagle, bullion wire cockade with metallic centre, standard officer silver cap cords. Some minor crazing to the fibre visor on the exterior. To the interior the mid tan leather sweatband with bright silver stamping of the trademark ‘EREL’. The inner lining has shot in places. The centre celluloid lozenge is still complete with the faint but visible markings of ‘OFFIZIER KLEIDERKASSE BERLIN’ with the central lozenge of ‘EREL’. One small section of the celluloid cracked to the left hand side. A rare cap.
