Possibly the hardest of all the coloured piped caps to obtain for the Luftwaffe is the light green piped visor cap for the Luftwaffe Air traffic control. This fabulous example, non size stamped but approximately size 56. High saddle shape. No moth to any part of the cap. Standard Luftwaffe blue grey ribbed cloth with light green (Hellgrun) piping to the crown and the upper and lower sections of the mohair centre band. Fitted with the standard Luftwaffe eagle and cockade, which as toned slightly. Standard style of chinstrap with oval buckles. The peak is of the double ribbed variety most popular with Luftwaffe caps. To the interior the sweatband is light grey ersatz material. The upper inner crown and the sides are lined in two various colours of light grey. The large centre celluloid lozenge is all complete with a fine image of the uniform retailer ‘H.Oldevend, Hamburg’.
