GERMAN WWII SA GROUPING FUHRER COLLAR PATCHES IDENTIFIED.
An exceptionally rare set of collar patches formally belonging to SA Gruppenfuhrer Wilhelm Schmid, shot by Sepp Dietrich’s LAH firing squad on the Night of the Long Knives 30th June 1934, pale blue for SA Gruppe Hochland with super quality silver oakleafs with matt background and polished highlights, silver wire borders, some moth damage on the reverse side and minor moth to the face side. SA Gruppenfuhrer Wilhelm Schmid 1889 to 1934 joined the 11th Bavarian infantry regiment as a lieutenant in 1911 and served throughout World War I, following World War I he was an officer in Freikorps Ritter von Epp 1919 to 1920 before rejoining the Reichswher, he took part in Hitler’s 9th November 1923 attempted Putsch which for which he was awarded the blood order, Ernst Rohm appointed him SA Ober Fuhrer in 1931 and SA Gruppenfuhrer in 1933 and commanding officer of SA Gruppe Holand land later in June 1934, Hitler personally ordered the arrest of Schmid and five other SA leaders they were taken to Stadelheim prison and shot by an SS firing squad.
