GERMAN WWII ALLACH MOUNTAIN STAG, MODEL 10.

A beautiful example of the Allach white porcelain mountain stag, designed by Theodore Karner. The figure was introduced in 1936, as shown in the 1936 catalogue. Approximate production numbers were 93 for the total white versions produced between1938/39. The mountain stag is heavily detailed and impressive. In the work Allach Porcelain 36-45 by Dennis R. Porell Dennis describes that the antlers are removable and the item pictured in the afore-mentioned work on page 386 does appear to have antlers that were applied after the main body was finished, on our example the join of the antlers to the main body is nowhere near as distinct and is very finely finished in the join area. There is no damage in any place or any replacement parts on our mountain stag. The SS Porcelain Works at Allach on the edges of the town of Dachau and next to the concentration camp was created by Heinrich Himmler's SS to create by the finest artisans in Germany, beautiful pieces of white and coloured porcelain. The previously mentioned work of Allach Porcelain two volumes is a beautiful work and we strongly advise any potential collector to obtain these books.
