US WWII BRITISH MADE U.S. ARMY AIR FORCE OFFICERS VISOR CAP.

Any uniform parts full U.S. Army or Army Air Force made in Britain during WWII are difficult to obtain, this is a magnificent condition 7.1/8th size 1943 dated officers visor cap, constructed in very fine soft Melton cloth with contrasting light tan mohair centre band. Highly gilded American cap eagle, the badge itself possibly being U.K. made with its matching side buttons. Central cross strap. Soft leather peak. The interior sweatband showing wear use but still in excellent condition. Nicely satin lined to the interior with the most beautiful silk woven label, which reads “STYLED BY FAILSWORTH ENGLAND, EXPRESSIVELY FOR THE UNITED STATES FORCES IN EUROPEAN MILITARY OPERATIONS”. On pulling down the sweatband there is a nice U.S. acceptance stamp, which reads ‘APPROVED C.I.G.’ Some of the stitching in the forehead area that attaches the sweatband to the main body has rotted and the sweatband in that area alone is slightly loose. Superb shape. No moth damage.
