A very nice photograph of the then General Montgomery standing in a field hand annotated ‘France July 1944’ wearing his double badged beret, roll neck jumper and trousers, no other insignia, standing with the well known French General Pierre Koenig, Koenig was well known as being the Commander of the 16 day battle of Bir Hachein in the western desert. Monty is standing in front of a tent and his caravan with the insignia of the 21st Army Group on the rear side of the caravan. The size of the photograph is 11cm x 15cm with a mount and then frame.
