BRITISH WWII CHINDITS PATCH.
A very nice Indian made Chindits patch, yellow embroidery on blue background. 7.5cm in circumference. Chindits were the Special Forces of South East Asia, penetrating deep behind Japanese lines in the most horrendous jungle conditions with great success. The Chindits columns are made up of a mixture of British and Indian troops. The design of the Chindits patch was from the Burmese word chinthe, the chinthe is a mythical creature half lion and half dragon, which is the main centre feature of the Chindits patch.
