AUSTRIAN WWI BERNDORFER ARMOURED FRONT PLATE.

The company that made the Berndorfer helmet had observed the introduction of a front plate for the German M.16 helmet and decided to design a front armoured plate of their own, this extremely rare example retaining a good degree of Austrian brown paint with rust bleed and corrosion showing through. Complete with all its strapping in the Austrian style and clips for fitting to the Berndorfer helmet. This is a very rare accessory of WWI.
