GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE FIELD DIVISION CAMOUFLAGE SINGLE DECAL M.40 COMBAT HELMET.
A very scarce and totally original M.40 combat helmet, stamped size Q66. The exterior of the helmet is in a three toned camouflage of green, tan and brown, similar in style to a first war camouflage finish but without separation lines. The original Luftwaffe decal is nice and clear, one small section of the tan has run over the forward wing of the eagle, the camouflage painting has been done very carefully around the eagle, there is a slight run of the green over the bottom leg of the swastika. Some loss to the paint has can be seen in our web images. A name partially obliterated from the inside of the skirt, probably indicating that it was passed from one wearer to another. The interior lining is all complete with its 8 tongues and its original drawstring and its original chinstrap. It would appear to us that the liner was taken out of the helmet for the camouflage painting and then replaced as the camouflage is also on the inside of the helmet below the line of the edge of the zinc liner band. The three liner retaining rivets head have no paint finish on them at all. This was more than likely used by a member of the Luftwaffe Field Division. More extensive, extra images can be seen on our new Premium website, type in regimentalsmilitaria.co.uk in to your web browser.
