GERMAN WWI REICH MARINE AIRSHIP UNIT (ZEPPELIN) DECK CAP.

A standard Reich Marine deck cap in blue, excellent condition, no moth or damage anywhere. Small size ‘53’, fitted with the rare cap tally of ‘II.Marine Luftschiffer Abteilung.II in Roman numeral.’ Marked to the inside with a ‘B.A.(possibly R but difficult to read) which would be Reich Marine with the date ‘17th April 14’ with the further block ‘1.M.L.A.’( 1st Marine Luftschiffer Abteilung). Complete with its original leather sweatband and the remains of a paper label. Fitted with its single Reich Marine national cockade, the cap tally has its full length tails.
