GERMAN WWII FREE INDIA VOLUNTEER ARM PATCH.
The ultra rare arm patch for the Free India volunteers to the German forces in World War II. For many years prior to World War II there was a movement within India for independent from Great Britain, at the start of World War II there were a huge amount of Indian soldiers serving with the British Indian army , they served in the Far East, North African desert and Italy, inevitably there were Indian troops that were captured by both the Italians , Germans and Japanese, as the war progressed the German forces were becoming short of personnel, and recruited volunteers from wherever they could, they worked on a program of converting Indian prisoners to volunteer for the German forces to fight to free India. This movement was led by Chandra Bose. The Japanese also recruited Indian prisoners for their own Indian National Army.
