GERMAN WWII WAFFEN SS OAKLEAF HELMET COVER.

This helmet cover was purchased by us from probably one of the best collections in the UK approximately 5 years ago, sold very quickly and now has just been re-purchased. The late war oak leaf pattern, spring and reversible to autumn, possibly never been used, one storage rust stain close to the peak. There are three clips that hold the helmet cover to the helmet, one of the sprung loaded sections has lost its springing except for a small section to the upper part of the aperture, the other two have also broken in situ with various degrees of the springs still being able to feel with the fingers inside the apertures. Slight surface rust to all of the clips, rust has flooded onto the material of one clip and has created a slight tear in the material. To the autumn side pattern there are a series of unidentified numbers visible ‘5659’.
