GERMAN WWI M18 EAR CUT OUT HELMET.

The M 18 ear cutout helmet is a very scarce model of German helmet from World War I, a small batch of the helmets were finished in a type of flock which was a form of camouflage and took away the reflection of the light and sun from the helmet, all of the M 18 helmets were marked E.T. 64, this example having a good majority of the flock finish remaining to the lower half of the bowl , the original lower finish can be seen on the rubbed crown, complete with its M 18 liner band, white leather pads, unfortunately the three inner horsehair pads are missing, original drawstring present, to the inner upper crown a stamping of R 1848 N, the helmet also complete with its Carbine style chinstrap, with sprung loaded closure clip in metal.
