GERMAN WWII RLB BANNER.

A rare banner from the Third Reich being the 120 x 120cm banner. Standard red flag cloth with all silver trimming on three sides. The most beautiful cotton black with white edged swastika laid onto a brocade starburst of 8 points, laid onto red flag cloth, which is stitched directly onto the base red flag cloth. This is the final pattern insignia for the RLB, this pattern of RLB insignia was introduced on the 31st January 1939. An excellent photograph on page 329 in colour of Defending the Reich by David Littlejohn. There is some moth to one corner of the flag. The two unit patches, which are normally in white embroidery on a red field in rectangular form placed in one upper corner of the flag on both sides has been removed. The tapes for the original hanging rings have been removed with stitches remaining where the rings were fixed. A superb display item as a backdrop to a Third Reich collection and also a rare flag for the RLB collector.
