GERMAN WWII WAFFEN SS ENLISTED MAN’S VISOR CAP.

A very scarce and generally excellent condition Waffen SS enlisted man’s visor cap, a private purchase item, although the construction to the interior is very similar to the army issued caps of the saddle shape of the late 1930s. Approximately size 57 excellent nap to cloth overall, having a smattering of minor moth nips and small moth repairs to the crown. Basic field grey green, white wool piped for infantry, a tight to the body black wool centre band, standard SS single central buckle chinstrap, black side buttons, a good set of national eagle and skull with finish missing to both pieces, the interior lining of the russet brown brushed cotton very similar to the saddle shaped army caps of the 1930s as previously mentioned, private retailer of Karl Happe of Ludenscheid, the owners initials O.N hand applied to the upper inner crown, brown leather sweatband supple and all intact, the foam cushion behind the sweatband in the forehead area has solidified and crumbled but some of it still intact, this cap was last sold by us in 2013.
