GERMAN WWII ASERBAIDSCHAN VOLUNTEER OVERSEAS CAP.
A rare piece of headdress of the Third Reich being an enlisted mans M.38 field cap, size 57, heavily worn. The exterior nap to the cloth is all missing, on pulling back the side curtains and opening the upper envelope the original army field grey green can be seen and also the cloth with its nap intact. The cap has been field modified for wear by an officer with addition of silver piping, a black panzer silver on black cap eagle has been fitted. Around the central cockade a lemon yellow section of waffenfarbe, to the centre a metallic red and green cockade designating Aserbaidschan. To the side of the cap a metallic knife very similar to a kindjal and/or a kukri has been pinned. To the interior the standard German army lining is present with an extra section is the maker of ‘Karl Isken Uniformuntzenfabrik Koln’.
