GERMAN WWII ARMY SMOKE TROOPS VISOR CAP.

A very nice condition saddle shaped visor cap for an officer in the smoke troops, Bordeaux Red piping to the upper and lower sections of the dark Green centre band also to the crown, very high quality Melton material, no moth holes, or moth tracking to the nap of the cloth anywhere on the cap, stamped size 56 ½ to the interior but feels more 58 larger on test , stamped aluminium national eagle, good quality wire woven national cockade, standard officers cap cords with pebbled side buttons. One crease to the black finish on the fibreboard peak, to the interior the mid tan brown leather sweatband in superb condition, some slight degrading to the inner brushed cotton lining material underneath the sweatband, the upper inner lining in gold satin, the centre celluloid lozenge with the faint remains of a tradename “ Luxus”. At one stage in this caps life it has been in the inventory of a theatrical costume company, of which the ink stamped details are just below the celluloid lozenge.
