JAPANESE WWII TYPE 90 ARMY COMBAT HELMET, VIRTUALLY MINT WITH ORIGINAL COVER.
A rare combination of the Japanese type 90 combat helmet with its original field cover. the three pad liner system, untouched apart from slight age foxing to the leather, each section of the leather padding has its own original horsehair padded interior. The long canvas chinstrap system is all complete. The helmet cover has its original drawstring, an unidentified kanji figure painted in white into the rear skirt of the helmet. It would be very difficult to find a better example of a Japanese army helmet of WWII with all the original paint to the steel helmet, with its original combat cover. Excellent copies of the Japanese field covers have been produced in Japan, it is easy to identify these copies by removing the helmet cover from the helmet, inverting it on its dome, if it collapses it will be a copy, if it stays firm it will be an original cover, this cover stays firm when inverted.
