GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE REICH AIR INSPECTION SERVICE OVERSEAS CAP.

A standard enlisted ranks overseas cap, which has seen much service wear but with the rare twisted wool piping in light green indicating it was used by a member of the Air Inspection Service of the Luftwaffe. One moth hole to the rear of the cap. Complete with its Luftwaffe eagle and cockade in embroidered material. Faint traces of the maker’s name and a large letter ‘A’ over-stamped over the maker’s stamp. The lining is the standard Luftwaffe issue type lining. The cap is large size, possibly 58. One rust stain to the right of the national cockade. On pulling down the side curtains the original Luftwaffe blue grey with all of its can clearly be viewed. In a good light a clear date of ‘1940’ can be seen in the original maker’s stamping.
