BRITISH WWI & WWII MEDAL AND DOCUMENT GROUPING.
The British WWI War Medal in its original box, awarded to Private A.L.Bynge, Kings Royal Rifle Corps. Complete with its ribbon. With the medal is the empty box for the Victory Medal, the medal itself is not with the group and has presumably been lost. A framed scroll from King George V commemorating the death of Rifleman Arthur Leslie Bynge, Kings Royal Rifle Corps. The letter from the Records Office, Winchester in 1921 posthumously awarding Rifleman Bynge the British War & Victory Medals. A handwritten copy of the obituary in the local Cambridge newspaper from his Commanding Officer describing how he was killed in a communication trench as a stretcher bearer. A single Christmas card 1917 with ‘Best wishes’ printed and the name ‘Arthur’ handwritten. A small locket with some hair inside. The WWII section is the 1939-45 War Medal, accompanying the group is a group of three from WWII, the 1939-45 Star, accompanied by a France and Germany Star and a 1939-45 Star, which we presume may have been Private Bynge’s son. His medal were obtained directly from the family sources.
