GERMAN WWII M 40 TWO COLOUR CAMOUFLAGE COMBAT HELMET.

A size Q 62 size shell originally issued as a single decal M 40 combat helmet, over painted in an unusual two colour camouflage pattern basic colour of forest green with tan around the lower rear edge, with a V shaped section of tan to the front of the helmet, possible area of use southern France, some minor splashes of what appear to be domestic paint to the crown area otherwise untouched, the interior shell up to the edge of the M 40 liner band also painted in the basic forest green over paint. M 40 liner excellent condition, wear use obvious, no damage, drawstring complete , chinstrap has the tip missing, outline of the original M 40 decal can be seen beneath the forest green paint, only the numbers 148 can be seen of a four digit section of the batch number in the rear skirt, a nice typed label from the previous owner of this helmet is still attached of the helmet with full description.
