A very good M 1902 tunic from a member of the Canadian engineers. Attached to the tunic is the honourable service World War I badge to Canada individually numbered on the back 79940 which has been identified to Robert Henshaw born June 1889, enlisted September 1914 in the 5th Battalion the Canadian Expeditionary Force known as the CEF, who arrived in France February 1915, he was part of the first Canadian division and was attached to the Canadian engineers first and second field companies, wounded in the head close to Hill 70 near Loos, discharged February 1919 as unfit for service, blue Engineer over patches to the epaulette with brass Canada shoulder titles, all buttons of the Canada variety, Canadian engineers collar patches, interior markings show the number 114 over WD with broad arrow and L below, nap to cloth thin corporals stripes to both sleeves 2 wound stripes and overseas stripes to opposite sleeve one moth hole to right-hand sleeve and two further small moth holes close to the right hand upper pocket as the tunic is worn, we are given to believe that Henshaw was awarded the MM , but do not have the proof of that.
