GERMAN WWI M 17 CAMOUFLAGE COMBAT HELMET.
A very good example of the M 17 camouflage helmet, stamped SI 66, the exterior having the three-colour camouflage in an unusual pattern especially at the rear of the helmet, standard three colours of green crown and ochre with black separation lines, all colours bright, some chipping to the crown area. The interior retains its apple green finish with the wearers name of Fehrenbach black ink applied to the rear skirt. The light-coloured leather three section liner is all complete. Two of the sections have their original horsehair cushions to the inside, one is missing the leather pad that has the cushion missing has also cracked in places, the original drawstring still applied to 2 of the tongues, the 2 strap posts that secure the strap to the helmet shell still intact, strap missing.
