GERMAN WWII ARMY CHAPLAINS TUNIC.

A well worn and in places quite heavily moth damaged police green tunic of the 4 pocket style 8 button closed collar construction, worn by an army chaplain. This tunic was owned by us many years ago and has now found its way back to us. Army chaplains collar patches hand applied, stitched evidence on the reverse side where police collar patches were possibly originally affixed. No shoulder boards as is standard for army chaplains. To each upper sleeve a section of chaplains purple cloth has been stitched in the size of 14 x 9cm. To the upper right sleeve is loosely attached a Red Cross armband with a matching section of purple cloth to the centre of the armband. A large patch of moth damage close to the second buttonhole. To the upper left hand breast as the tunic is viewed a service worn wire woven officers breast eagle, other areas of moth damage exist particularly on the short barrel cuffs and to the lower skirt and various other sprinklings. Loops for one award to the upper right pocket pleat. An unusual tunic to a rare branch of the armed forces.
