Complete with its state and national cockades, nine tongued leather liner excellent condition with original drawstring, ink stamp 57 to the interior with faint traces of a maker’s stamp applied to the inner rear peak, Linen label with the name and rank of the owner of the helmet, 2nd battery Artillery Regiment 59. The original leather wedges that hold the front plate in place have been replaced by British tunic button clips, indicating the helmet probably taken from a prisoner.
