USA WWI EXPERIMENTAL HELMET.

During the latter stages of World War I United States carried out a series of experimental helmets, the largest being the helmet known as the Deep Salade, this example having all of its original rough sand painted finish to the exterior, its original steel liner band, it’s three pad liner system with the rexine inner pouches to take the inner pads present but the pads are missing, with its original khaki canvas chinstrap and clutch type closure buckle, a very good example of this scarce helmet.
