GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE AIR GUNNER ONLY BADGE CASED.

The air gunner only badge in its original titled case is a difficult item to find, this mid to late war example is constructed by W Deumer of Ludenscheid, it has lost the majority of its silvered finish to the oak and laurel leaf wreath, with faint traces of the silver to the lower areas remaining, on the reverse side the silver finish is still retained to the base of the hinge and of the hook, the badge is in its totally original case, on lifting the badge out of the base of the box the original blue colour of the base is revealed, the remaining colour has faded due to exposure to light possibly in the original wearers and owners house, the upper inner purple blue material to the lid all intact, to the exterior lid in silver faint, Luftwaffen Fliegerschutzen Abzeichen, a scarce badge and case together.
