BRITISH WWI CHAPLAIN’S OVERSEAS CAP AND VESTMENT CASE.
A fabulous quality cap for an army chaplain, the beautiful purple colour of the main body of the cap is set off by the lower portions in black. Gold piping to either side of the upper envelope. The most magnificent Chaplains Department multi constructed badge with blue enamels and gilt. Two Chaplains Department Kings Crown button to the front, silk lined in gold with its original paper label of ‘Size 6 7/8th’ intact with the lower part of the sweatband in light velvet. No moth to any part of the cap. Accompanied by a very delicate and literally falling to pieces vestment case constructed in wood with most of the joints loose, internally having active service testament dated ‘1917’, the Gospel According to St. Luke army prayer book, New Testament Bible dated ‘1915’, candle holders, original candle, two booklets on bandaging and first aid.
