A complete white summer uniform belonging to a driver Obermatrose Willhelm Ziegler, he was killed at Sebastopol in Russia on 7 May 1944. On the 7 th May 44, the Russians launched a massive attack with aerial support and Ziegler was killed in that attack, Ziegler was born in Upper Silesia in 1915 in a area now in Poland The set comprises, white top deck cap in excellent condition, possibly size 56, with its separately applied Kriegsmarine eagle swastika and cockade, to the interior of the white top is a standard embroidered red on white naval label with the name Ziegler. Kriegsmarine cap tally full-length with all its tails, to the interior the mid tan leather sweatband showing minor wear use, with a gold rayon inner lining having the faint remains of a retailer silver blocked under the centre celluloid lozenge cracked in one place, naval white summer shirt with Ostsee markings and another label Ziegler, with an black ink stamped B.A.K 1936 date. Shirt is complete with its neck piece, with a Bevo woven Blue on White eagle, and drivers badge to Left sleeve, accompanied by the white summer trousers with matching label matching Ostsee numbers.
