SCOTTISH OFFICERS BONNET.
An extremely nice condition officers bonnet identified, to J C H Thompson Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. A Boer war officer in 1900, 7 th Dragoon guards 1903, reserve Battalion Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders October 1914. In its original carrying tin named to the top of the tin, bonnets are notorious for degrading, this one is an exception, all intact, with its red and white diced band in wool, a nice quality Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders officers badge, with all of its tails, and its white plume, officers cream Morocco leather sweatband, and its original inner maroon silk, the bonnet sits on the original stand that comes complete with the carrying tin, the tin carries the manufacturers label of Jones & Co London with a Victorian crown emblem. A super example of a Scottish officers bonnet.
