GERMAN WWII DOUBLE EREL MARKED LUFTWAFFE FLAK NCO VISOR CAP.

It is extremely rare to find any Erel marked caps for junior ranks in the Luftwaffe, this has to be a special order by a probably quite wealthy enlisted man or nco, constructed in fine officers ribbed quality material, high saddle shape, no moth anywhere on the cap. Flak artillery piping. Standard mohair centre band. A matched set of nice bright stamped metal insignia. Standard officers nco double buckle leather strap with the double ribbed edge peak quite often found on Luftwaffe caps. To the interior the light tan leather sweatband has suffered from leather rot, it is all in place however there is one split across the silvered Erel trademark and some collector strengthening has been carried out behind the forehead area and on the inner upper right hand side of the sweatband. The interior lining is all of gold with an undamaged centre celluloid lozenge with the very faint traces of the Erel trademark below the lozenge. The retailers label of ‘Hans Durbeck of Vienna’ is applied on the exterior of the celluloid lozenge, with the original owner’s name ‘Julius Leischner’ on a classic period paper label situated in the label aperture of the celluloid lozenge.
