GERMAN WWI ARMY VETERINARIAN FULL BOXED KIT AND INSTRUMENTS.

A fantastic piece of veterinary equipment from the German Armed Forces. A heavy- duty wooden box measuring 55cm in length, 30cm in width, 20cm in depth, painted in field grey green with steel edges, full of bottles and tins, which at one time carried all the veterinary medication for attending to army serving animals. There are many bandages, glass bottles still protected by their corrugated paper wrapping, a morphine container without the morphine. To the upper inner lid is a full paper diagram of the contents with the maker’s name of ‘Hauptner Berlin’. Also to the upper inner lid is a sprung loaded opening exposing many packets of bandages, some later dated ‘1940’ but most of them having the ‘Hauptner’ maker mark to the paper wrapping. Accompanying the box and its contents is a leather pouch, which measures 16cm x 11cm, also marked ‘Hauptner Instruments’ being a full compliment of beautiful quality instruments needed for the veterinarian to perform minor operations on animals. Accompanying the pouch a paper inscription reading ‘MILITARY VETERINARY SERVICE BAG MODEL 1912 ‘ with the name and address of the company ‘H.HAUPTNER, BERLIN’. Shipping will carry a surcharge because of the weight.
