GERMAN WWI PRUSSIAN ERSATZ FELT REGIMENT 157 PICKELHAUBE.
‘Schlesisches Infantry Regiment 157’ indelibly applied to the inner rear peak, difficult to read but careful viewing can discern this regimental number. The owner’s name also applied but that is impossibly to read. Good quality hard felt shell with nice double stitched front and rear peaks. Brass Prussian front plate with the head missing from the left hand sceptre eagle. Original chinstrap and both State and national cockades. Two of the dome fixings for the spike base are missing, the two that are present are quite unusual, they are not domed and they are held in place by unusual type threaded studs to the interior. Applied to the interior spike base plate is a nice original paper label with the manufacturer’s name and the size of ‘54’ with its multi grained leather liner all intact.
