U.S. KRAG BOWIE BLADED BAYONET.

A very fine condition United States M.1898/900 Krag-Jorgensen Bowie bayonet. Only 2,818 of these impressive American bayonets were produced for trial by the Springfield Armoury with 2,000 being shipped to the Philippines and 600 to Cuba to fit the Krag Jorgensen rifle. The beautiful Bowie blade in magnificent condition, marked ‘US 1900’. Complete with its undamaged wood grips, rifle retaining system working correctly, the scabbard appears to have lost a degree of its blueing with some lightly cleaned corrosion towards the base of the scabbard, with its sprung loaded belt clip, system all intact. One crease to the face side of one of the wood grips.
