An unusual white top cap having its white top sewn to the body over its original blue top. Some light staining to the crown area, with its early short winged droop tailed, matching aluminium cockade, standard centre band with two nicks to the mohair. Red piping for a Luftwaffe flak regiment around the centre band, standard form of chinstrap. Double edge front peak with some creasing. To the interior evidence of heavy wear use to the sweatband, which is all intact. Stamped size ‘57’ beneath the complete celluloid lozenge with a clear date of ‘1936’ with a retailers name in Berlin with the original owner’s name on a slip of paper beneath the celluloid.
